About Vampyr
Vampyr is a free pachinko style game you can play directly in your browser. Try to get the balls in the blood pools to get points and more balls. The game requires no download or account and works on desktop and mobile browsers.
How to Play
Just click/press your finger to launch a ball, watch the vampire statue’s head to know where it will throw it. Obstacles will make the balls bounce around so be careful where you aim…or not.
Tips
The blood pools will open and close so keep an eye on them; same goes for the moving blood pool at the bottom. If you can spin the wheels and match 3 symbols you get bonus points, but it doesn’t give you more balls to play. If you can find the right rhythm, you can get multiple balls in, but you can also try holding down and letting all these balls fly.
Designer’s Notes
I wanted to make a pachinko style game for a long time, but I didn’t want to use hard physics which are costly and are not necessarily fun all the time. I reused some code I made for a breakout type game, but added gravity and the blood pool system where the ball need to stay to get the points. After the main game was solid enough, I started decorating with some gothic style visuals; at some point, it felt pretty empty in the upper middle, so I added the clock, which is giving the proper time(mostly). Then I added the little roulette game- originally, the spinners were always spinning and would knock all the balls away, which was fine, but I wanted to add a little gameplay element with the player pushing the wheels.
