About RYB
RYB is a free arcade game you can play directly in your browser. RYB stands for Red-Yellow-Blue. Clear the stage of colorful boxes as quickly as you can to get more points. The game requires no download or account and works on desktop and mobile browsers.
How to Play
Click on the screen to send your ball bouncing around, try to hit the block that matches the ball color. The ball will next switch to the next color, always matching the Red-Yellow-Blue pattern. Your scoring is based on the remaining time. When time ends, you lose a life.
Tips
Sometimes, the ball starts in a different color, but the pattern always ends up with Red-Yellow-Blue. You can rebound on walls to reach a blocked box. Hitting a wrong color box will cost you a life. Rotating fans will change the ball’s direction, the spiky box will destroy it, the clear box will just let it bounce off. You can hold your finger down to aim and judge the trajectory of the ball.
Designer’s notes
The game was made a few years ago while I was commuting a lot. I was taking the train and subway early in the morning and had the idea while watching the street signals and stopped cars waiting for it to turn green. The train was passing by quickly, so there was not much time to see it changing, but it gave me the idea to have a ball of switching colors and strict rules, although I used red-yellow-blue instead of the standard red-yellow-green because of visual considerations. The main HUD was designed to look like a train door and window; later on, I added some graffiti decoration when the boxes are destroyed, as the train would pass by empty wagons completely painted over.
