About Fish Stack
Fish Stack is a free puzzle game you can play directly in your browser. Align groups of similar fish by dragging them across the screen. Get as many as you can to get better scores. The game requires no download or account and works on desktop and mobile browsers.
How to Play
Touch a fish, drag it and let it go. It will gather similar looking fish as it slides along. If you get 4 or more in a stack, they will vanish and get you points.
Tips
Every fish you drag makes a new fish appear behind him. If there is no space left for a fish to appear, the game is over, so pay attention to the row behind to know if it’s safe to send a fish in a certain direction. You can safely send a fish out of the backrow even if it is full, it will be replaced by a possibly different one. Fish are stopped by other fish, but the one you send sliding might get further along as others are stopped.
Designer’s Notes
The game was made a few years ago, when I was commuting a lot. I had to get up early in the morning to get to the train station. I had to transfer to catch the subway. When the train would slow down approaching the subway station, people would get up and gather in line near the exit door. It made me think of fishes of various colors and I would imagine organizing ourselves based on colors. I also wanted a game that could be played in a relaxed way, not being pressed for time. The weather was pretty bleak most of the time, so I wanted a sunny paradise island vibe to escape the gloom.
