About Bugs Hunt
Bugs Hunt is a free match-3 puzzle game you can play directly in your browser. Squash rows of pesky bugs before time runs out. The game requires no download or account and works on desktop and mobile browsers.
How to Play
Just click/press your finger on a bug to crush it, the other bugs will cascade to fill in the void. If 4 or more bugs of the same type touch, they will also get crushed. The more you get, the more points you make.
Tips
If you get a high combo rolling, a shiny version of a bug can appear. If you click it, you will get rid of all the visible bugs of his kind. Every 5000 points, you get a special attack that can clear multiple bugs in a row. Killing multiple bugs will give you some more time. If no combo happens after you crush a bug, there will be a penalty-a black ball that you cannot destroy, unless it makes it to the bottom where it will be eliminated by falling off.
Designer’s Notes
I made this game a few years ago. I wanted to learn how to make match-3 games with a cascading effect, so I started experimenting with different ways to implement it. I tried various tricks to have the blocks falling down, but it sometimes ended up generating pretty weird bugs. The original version had a scrolling screen at the top with a character moving about, but it was so buggy, enemies would swarm him for no reason and the match3 action would not make sense. At that point, I decided to make a simpler mechanic, provoked by the destruction of any chosen tile. And hopefully, I cleared all the bugs :).
